The Heart of OM Italy

OM Italy exists to work in partnership with the Italian Evangelical Church in order to bring people to Christ and to send Italians into the mission field, both in Italy and abroad.  OM Italy focuses on short-term ministry initiatives. 

Through short-term ministry teams we aim to establish strategic partnerships that will last through time, bringing mutual blessing to all the parties involved.

Our goal: to encourage each individual and church to stand up and use their unique gifting in their unique situation to reach out to the world to share Jesus, bringing along and encouraging as many as they can. 

Through prayer meetings and special events we aim to create a “World Christian” mentality and awareness. We aim to provide the infrastructure and network for Italians to serve according to their gifting inside and outside of Italy through their service, finances or prayer.

Valuing Partnerships

OM is an interdenominational organisation that highly values the local church. Every OMer is sent from and supported by their local church.

Internationally, OM seeks to encourage and resource the church, and where no churches exist, we aim to plant locally-led ones. OM also works closely with a number of other Christian organisations. In fact, many have sprung from OM over the last 50 years.

• Evangelical Christians make up only 1% of the population of Italy.

• Although primarily Roman Catholic, less than a quarter of the Italian population attends mass regularly.

• Over 100,000 practicing magicians live in Italy, and the city of Turin has one of the largest satanic churches in Europe.

• With the rising numbers of immigrant minority groups, Islam is the second largest religion in Italy today.

• In over 31,000 Italian villages, there is no evangelical witness.
